Happy New Year, 2023!

Happy New Year!

I am looking forward to all that the Lord has in store for His saints in the coming year. As we begin the new year and reflect on the old, I cannot help but feel joy for days past and hope for days ahead.

I want to share with you all one of my favorite songs. This song tends to come up a lot this time of year, but for me it is a joy to sing all year round. It is titled “All Glory Be To Christ”, written by Dustin Kensrue. The lyrics offer a good reminder of what’s most important in our lives — the glory of Christ. It is written to the traditional New Year tune of “Auld Lang Syne”.

Below, I have provided a link to a Youtube Video as well as the lyrics to the song. Give it a listen and reflect on the glory of the Lord as we meet the New Year with eager anticipation.

Lyrics

Words by Dustin Kensrue To the tune of Auld Lang Syne

Verse 1
Should nothing of our efforts stand, No legacy survive,
Unless the Lord does raise the house, In vain its builders strive.
To you who boast tomorrow’s gain, Tell me, what is your life?
A mist, it vanishes at dawn, All glory be to Christ.

Chorus
All glory be to Christ our King,
All glory be to Christ.
His rule and reign we’ll ever sing,
All glory be to Christ.

Verse 2
His will be done, His kingdom come, On earth as is above.
Who is Himself our daily bread, Praise Him the Lord of love.
Let living waters satisfy the thirsty without price.
Come eat of Him, our Living Bread, all glory be to Christ.

Chorus
All glory be to Christ our King,
All glory be to Christ.
His rule and reign we’ll ever sing,
All glory be to Christ.

Verse 3
When on the day, the great I Am, the faithful and the true,
The Lamb who was for sinner’s slain, Is making all things new.
Behold our God shall live with us, And be our steadfast Light,
And we shall e’er his people be, All glory be to Christ.

Chorus
All glory be to Christ our King,
All glory be to Christ.
His rule and reign we’ll ever sing,
All glory be to Christ.

All glory be to Christ our King,
All glory be to Christ.
His rule and reign we’ll ever sing,
All glory be to Christ.
